THE CHALLENGE
The XXII Commonwealth Games was the largest event ever held on the Gold Coast. With over 6 million additional commuter trips expected and a number of sporting venues within walking distance from major transport hubs, the Queensland Government needed to engage with patrons and encourage “Active Travel” as a free, healthy and accessible alternative to travelling by car.
THE EXECUTION
As a responsive and dynamic partner of the XXI Commonwealth Games, Black Raven Media liaised with the event team at the Department of Transport and Main Roads to provide same day turnaround for out-of-home and experiential activations to shepherd patrons away from the major hubs and provide a fun and festive experience along the way.
THE OUTCOME
The campaign achieved its primary objective of creating efficient and orderly foot traffic. This minimised logistical issues such as overcrowding at transport hubs, highway bottlenecks and illegal parking in the nearby areas.
Seamus and the team at Black Raven Media implemented effective and creative ambient media solutions during the Commonwealth Games. Black Raven Media went above and beyond our expectations and worked tirelessly around the clock to ensure the campaign ran smoothly.”
